In this two-and-a-half week course, your student will complete daily writing drills based around Christopher Marlowe’s rousing play Doctor Faustus (1588). During the first six days, your student will read the play and build skills at the sentence- and paragraph-levels. During the last six days, he or she will construct and write an analytical essay with our curriculum as a guide. Following our basic instructions, your student will progress easily from the thesis-statement to the outline to the final draft.
Note to Parents: Although the main character involves himself in magical incantations, the play rejects magic in favor of science and religion.
